Congratulations Lou

I'd like to thank everyone that helped, supported, and voted for my 92! It was the most vicious project I ever took on....especially when you figure the time line involved.

I bought the 92 from a member here at ECS about 1 year ago. At the time my '85 was 99% complete and I was enjoying it. The notch was something that I always wanted and the plan was to just "daily drive it". I sort of "grew out" of the '85, and not wanting to cut it up or beat it up, I received a great offer on it only as a rolling chassis and took it. That's when the idea for the notch was really born. I got the idea that I would reuse my existing engine/trans in the notch and make a fun street/strip car...all on a modest budget. That idea went out the door when I was involved in a minor fender bender and my friend Jeff (owner of Syracuse Auto Body) offered to repaint the car CHEAP. At this point I realized that this was not going to be "just a quick swap and go" deal. So starting last August, the car was stripped, engine bay welded and smoothed, and prepped for paint. In the mean time I took the engine apart, had the heads reworked, added a new intake and carb, built the rear, and planned out the suspension parts. 1/2 the money from the '85 bought all the above, the other 1/2 paid for my shiny new pellet stove. (oh what fun...) The car came home from paint the first week of February and reassembly began. It's been a LONG road, I'd say I averaged 15 hours per week since August...but now that it's done, it was worth it! With a little luck, now I can sit back and enjoy it for a while!
